Floating Solar Power

For the Global Marine Industry

ABOUT US

SUNAQ is an INNOVATIVE company based in the heart of the MARTIME region in the Western Cape of Norway. Our strength is our diverse MATERIAL KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE across various industries such as; RENEWABLE ENERGIES, AQUACULTURE, and INDUSTRIAL DESIGN. We strive to be at the forefront of technology and the development of a smarter and greener world.   We aim to collaborate with our partners and clients, leveraging innovative green solutions for a sustainable future.
SUNAQ represents 20 years of expertise in our tech field. With our focus on the environmental challenges in the ocean space, we believe we can contribute to wave-breaking global solutions.

A PROBLEM WORTH SOLVING

Our products represent a range of ocean-based renewable energy solutions with and without energy storage, and our floating solar solution SUB Solar™V2 is one of them. It dramatically reduces the amount of climate gas emissions and sound pollution from diesel barge engines used to power equipment for aquaculture and fish farming operations. Currently, most barges operate on diesel generators that produce significant greenhouse gas emissions like CO2 and NOx. By installing floating solar PV systems on barges and feeding the energy into batteries, we eliminate the need for polluting diesel generators by up to 100%.

Specifically, our floating solar PV systems allow fish farm operators to:

  • Reuse and extend the life of the fish pen collar is good for your economy and the environment
  • Reduce diesel consumption and CO2 and noise emissions from generator operation
  • Lower energy costs by utilizing solar energy
  • Provide clean, renewable energy to power equipment
  • Improve sustainability and meet environmental goals
  • Reduce noise in the workplace to improve working conditions
  • Reduce the frequency of polluting boat traffic when bunkering diesel
  • Move of installed system to new location possible

OUR PRODUCT

Our product will bring a great benefit to our chosen customer segment. Diesel-driven feeding barges are used by almost 100% of all Norwegian-controlled salmon and trout producers and the use of automated feeding barges is increasing globally. A new development in the direction of sustainability has been the introduction of batteries in the barges with highly sophisticated BMI and control over running- and charging time from the diesel gen set. This opens up the use of solar PV and other solutions to help reduce diesel consumption.
Our solution is:

  • Self-cleaning and winter safe <6 degrees celcius sea water temperature
  • Delivers clean energy
  • The cooling effect from the sea gives a higher yield
  • Storm and hurricane-proof solution
  • Re-use old fish pens
  • Solid waterproof solarpanels

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

SUB Solar™ has been under development since 2019 and is now patented (WIPO/PCT)

From 2019 to 2024, Countless hours have been spent by our SUNAQ team on developing the technological concept to prepare the SUB Solar™V2 design for the market. The final build of the prototype/pilot will remain before we are market-ready.

Patent NO345478, NO347706, EP4122096, and pending patents and rights are now under the control of  SUNAQ AS who will bring the SUB Solar™V2 concept to the international marketplace.
